How to Sell on eBay Live UK: My Experience as a Direct Partner

eBay Live has been a game changer for my business. If you haven't heard of it yet, it's eBay's live shopping feature where sellers broadcast live and sell products in real time. Think of it like a modern version of a car boot sale but with thousands of people watching from their phones.

I've been a direct partner with eBay Live since its UK beta launch and I want to share everything I've learned.

What Is eBay Live?

eBay Live lets sellers go live on the eBay app and sell products in an auction-style format. Buyers watch, bid and buy in real time. It's fast, it's interactive and it builds a connection with your audience that you just can't get from a standard listing.

The energy is completely different from normal selling. You're talking to people, answering questions and showing products up close. It feels more like entertainment than e-commerce. That's what makes it work.

How I Got Started

I didn't apply to eBay Live through some secret process. I was already a high-volume seller and content creator. eBay approached me because of my social media presence and my track record on the platform. They were looking for sellers who could bring energy, personality and an existing audience.

That said, eBay Live is now open to more sellers. You don't need 386K followers to get started. You need a solid eBay account with good feedback, interesting products and the confidence to go live on camera.

What Makes a Good eBay Live Stream?

  • Start with strong products. People tune in for exciting items. Mystery lots, branded goods and unique finds always perform well.
  • Be yourself. Viewers can tell when you're being fake. My streams do well because I'm the same person on camera as I am off camera.
  • Engage with your audience. Read comments, answer questions and make people feel involved. The more interactive you are, the longer people stay.
  • Be consistent. Streaming once and disappearing won't build an audience. I stream regularly so people know when to tune in.
  • Show the product properly. Hold it up, flip it around, point out any defects. Transparency builds trust and reduces returns.

How Much Can You Earn?

I won't give you exact figures because it varies massively depending on what you're selling and how many viewers you get. What I will say is that a single live stream can match what a normal eBay listing does in a week. The impulse buying factor is real.

The other benefit is brand building. My eBay Live streams have driven followers to my other platforms and opened doors for brand partnerships.

Should You Try It?

If you're already selling on eBay and you're comfortable on camera, absolutely. It's free to use, it puts your products in front of a new audience and it's genuinely fun. The worst that can happen is nobody shows up to your first few streams. That's normal. Keep going.
